What Does the OE Error Code Mean?

The OE code (Outlet Error) means your washer was unable to drain the water within the expected time. It may be caused by:

  • A clogged or kinked drain hose
  • A dirty or blocked drain pump filter
  • A faulty drain pump
  • Incorrect drain hose installation
  • Issues with the water level sensor or main control board

How to Fix the OE Error Code

1. Inspect the Drain Hose

  • Make sure the drain hose isn’t kinked, pinched, or clogged.
  • The hose should be positioned between 24–36 inches from the floor and inserted no more than 6 inches into the standpipe or sink.

2. Clean the Drain Pump Filter

  • Unplug the washer from the outlet.
  • Open the small access panel at the bottom front of the washer.
  • Drain the remaining water using the small drain hose and a shallow container.
  • Unscrew and remove the filter; clean out debris, coins, lint, etc.
  • Rinse the filter under running water and reinstall it securely.

3. Test the Drain Pump

  • Run a Spin or Drain cycle and listen for the pump.
  • If the pump is silent or makes strange noises, it may need to be replaced.

4. Check the Water Level Sensor & Control Board

  • If the above steps don’t fix the problem, there could be an issue with the pressure sensor or main PCB.
  • These components require professional testing and replacement.

How to Prevent the OE Error

  • Clean the drain filter monthly
  • Avoid overloading the washer
  • Use HE detergent and follow dosage instructions to prevent excess suds
  • Periodically check the drain hose for clogs or buildup
